Carly Ries (b. 1987) is an artist working across lens-based practices as a photographer, curator, archivist, and educator. Their artist books are in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, and the Joan Flasch Artist Book Collection. Their work has been exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art, FL; Bravin Lee, NY; Likely General, Toronto; ZH Projects, NY; A.I.R. Gallery, NY, among others.  In 2015, they received an MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They live and work in New York, teaching photography at Parsons School of Design, The New School.
